Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Kigali City Tour & Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
Meet your guide for a Kigali city tour, where you’ll explore key attractions such as the Kigali Genocide Memorial, vibrant local markets, and the modern Kigali Car Free Zone. After lunch in the city, depart for Volcanoes National Park, home to the famous mountain gorillas of Rwanda. Upon arrival, check in at your hotel and enjoy a visit to Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village to immerse yourself in Rwandan culture. Return to the hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park
After an early breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a briefing on your gorilla trekking safari. Volcanoes National Park is home to 10 habituated gorilla families available for trekking. This park is part of the renowned Virunga Massif, which borders Virunga National Park in Congo and Mgahinga Gorilla National Park in Uganda. Spend a few hours trekking to observe the majestic mountain gorillas in their natural habitat. After your thrilling adventure, return to the hotel for a relaxing evening stay.
Day 3: Golden Monkey Trekking & Transfer Back to Kigali
Following breakfast, transfer to the park for a golden monkey trekking experience. Unlike gorillas, golden monkeys are more active, requiring you to stay on the move as they forage for food. The trek to their habitat is manageable and provides great photo opportunities.
