At 4:30 am, our expert safari driver-guide will pick you up for your one-day gorilla safari experience. Enjoy a scenic 2.5-hour drive to Volcanoes National Park, located in Ruhengeri, where you’ll be briefed by a ranger about the rules and regulations for gorilla trekking in Rwanda and tracking the endangered mountain gorillas.
At exactly 7:30 am, we depart from the park’s headquarters in Kinigi Village to the starting point of your gorilla trek in Volcanoes National Park. The gorilla tracking adventure takes you deep into the jungle, and the trek can last anywhere from one to six hours, depending on the movement of the gorillas. Since you’re catching a flight on the same day, we will recommend a nearby gorilla family, which, while still challenging, offers an easier and more rewarding trek.
Once you locate the gorilla family, you’ll have one hour to take as many pictures as you wish and experience these majestic creatures up close. After your unforgettable gorilla trekking experience, you’ll be driven back to the hotel or the airport for your flight, with an en-route lunch along the way.
